Existing website support · Meath, Ireland

Keep your
website current.

Website updates and WordPress support for businesses in Meath and across Ireland. I help with content, images, layouts and agreed software updates, starting with a review of your existing setup.

A useful change can be a small one.

Your services may have changed, your project gallery may be out of date, or a mobile page may be awkward to use. If the foundations still work, a focused set of improvements can be the right next step. We’ll decide what is worth keeping before discussing a redesign.

A project that fits.

I take on selected freelance projects alongside my full-time marketing role. Send the website address and a short list of changes. I’ll check the platform, access and dependencies, then confirm what I can take on, the timing and the quote.

What we can work on

Content & project updates

Refresh service information, replace photographs, add approved testimonials or publish recent work. We agree the pages, supplied material and any copywriting required.

Layout & enquiry improvements

Improve an agreed page section, mobile layout, navigation or contact route. Check the changes against the way someone actually finds your work and asks for a quote.

WordPress, plugins & themes

Review the installed versions and compatibility, back up the files and database, and carry out agreed updates with testing. The existing hosting, licences and any custom code affect what is practical.

Search-related changes

Make agreed title, heading, content or internal-link changes while preserving useful URLs. If you need to establish why a site is not getting relevant visits, start with an SEO review.

Content for AI search

Make your services, customer answers and supporting work clearer within the current website. If AI search visibility is the main brief, start with a review and agree the changes it identifies.

Putting it into practice

Update, improve or rebuild?

These are different jobs. The starting point is the problem you need to solve.

Keep the working foundations

If the design and platform still suit the business, update the content or specific sections. A new team photo, clearer service description or recent project may be all the brief needs.

Fix a defined problem

If a form, mobile layout or navigation is causing trouble, identify the cause before agreeing the fix. We check the affected customer journey afterwards; a successful page load alone is not enough.

Recognise when more is needed

An unsupported theme, extensive custom code or a site that no longer fits the business may need a separate repair or redesign brief. I’ll explain the options before expanding the work.

Ideal Upholstery: website redesign, content and enquiry flow.

From the portfolio

Practical website work, grounded in real projects.

For Ideal Upholstery, I organised service content and a 19-project collection, retained the existing identity and built a photo-based enquiry route. It was a full redesign; the case study shows the content, layout and enquiry decisions that also inform smaller improvement projects.

The Ryan’s Kitchens project brings service pages, project imagery, brochures and an enquiry route together. It shows how useful content and a clear structure support the finished website.

Planning your project

Know what is changing—and how to recover it.

For WordPress updates, preparation and testing are part of the work, not an afterthought.

Access & a recovery plan

Confirm who owns the website, hosting and licences. Arrange the access needed for the agreed work, a current files-and-database backup, and a workable restore route before technical updates begin.

Test before and after

Use a staging copy where available and suitable. Review compatibility and release notes, then check the agreed pages, mobile layouts and important functions after updates. For an enquiry form, agree a test and confirm receipt with you.

A clear handover

You receive a summary of changes, checks and any remaining issues. Paid licences, hosting work and further repairs are discussed separately. Future updates or recurring support need their own agreed scope.

How we get there

  1. 01

Send the website & change list

Share the public website address, what needs changing and any deadline. You do not need to send passwords in the enquiry form.

  2. 02

    Review & agree the work

I assess the setup and dependencies, then outline the changes, backup and testing approach, costs and timing for approval.

  3. 03

    Update, check & hand over

Carry out the agreed work, review it on relevant screen sizes and check the affected functions. Confirm the result with you and record any follow-up.

Where I work

Based in Meath.
Working further afield.

I’m based in Summerhill, Co. Meath, and available for freelance projects with businesses in Trim, Navan and across the county. I can meet clients or visit their premises by arrangement.

I also offer remote support to businesses in Dublin, Cavan, Louth, Westmeath and Kildare, and elsewhere in Ireland. We can handle the brief, design reviews and handover by call and email, so you don’t need to be nearby to work with me.

Discuss your brief

A few practical details

Can you update a website you did not build?

Yes, subject to reviewing its platform, condition and access. Send the website address and the changes you need first. Some setups need help from the original developer or hosting provider; I’ll identify that before agreeing the work.

Do you update WordPress, plugins and themes?

Yes, where the setup and scope are suitable. The work includes a backup and testing plan, checking compatibility and reviewing the affected pages and functions afterwards. Unsupported plugins, expired licences and custom code may require separate work before an update can be completed safely.

Do I need a monthly maintenance plan?

Not necessarily. A defined set of updates can be quoted as a one-off project. If you need regular changes, we can discuss a separate arrangement with an agreed frequency, responsibilities and availability. This service does not include automatic round-the-clock monitoring or emergency cover.

What if an update causes a problem?

We agree a recovery route before technical work starts. If testing finds a problem, we pause, investigate and restore the previous state where appropriate rather than leaving a known broken change live. Repairs outside the agreed scope are discussed with you.

How much do website updates cost?

The quote depends on the changes, the platform, the condition of the site and the preparation and testing required. Send your website and a list of priorities. Any licence, hosting or third-party costs are identified separately before you commit.

Will updates improve my Google rankings?

Clearer content, working links and a better enquiry route can make a website more useful. Software updates alone do not guarantee higher rankings. If search visibility is the main problem, an SEO review helps determine which changes are worth prioritising.

Can you work remotely?

Yes. I’m based in Summerhill, Meath, and can handle website updates remotely for businesses across Ireland. Meetings or site visits can be arranged where useful; the website access and approval process are agreed before work begins.
