The brief
Create a multimedia piece addressing an issue in society. I chose 3D animation to develop my technical skills and explore how a fictional story could communicate the issue.
My approach
The premise was deliberately absurd: someone could walk into a shop and buy laser eyes, gaining the ability to cause serious harm. I used that exaggeration to draw a comparison with purchasing a weapon and question how dangerous capabilities could be treated as ordinary products.
What I worked on
I developed the script, storyboards and prototypes before creating the assets and animating the sequence. The futuristic shop and street provided the setting for the short.
The outcome
A completed college animation, published on my YouTube channel, combining a satirical story with a fully developed 3D setting.
Looking back
The most challenging part was designing and creating the assets, then bringing the full sequence to life through keyframe animation. The project gave me practical experience in both building a 3D world and animating a story within it.
